ARC
Replaced the former Dovecot Arts Centre which was housed in a group of Victorian commercial premises and extending over the site of the old Hippodrome.
The external façade is constructed of curved glass and cast coloured slabs behind which three levels of activity are visible. The interior has three performance spaces, a cinema, digital art studio, conference facilities, bars, restaurant and health club. The 275 seat courtyard theatre has heavily raked retractable seating and two small circles, the upper one of which includes the technical provision. The walls are concrete block and the lighting bridges are open. The stage has twelve 4-line hemp sets.
The Studio Theatre has an open stage with no dressing and shares backstage facilities with the main house.
