Colour photograph showing the simply ornamented red brick and terracotta façade of the vacant Hyde Theatre Royal. The building is in three major bays, and the centre bay is shown here. In the centre there is an arched, shallow recess with a semi-circular arched head and pilasters rising from corbels to support a triangular pediment which is richly decorated with moulded brickwork. At the front of what was previously a canopy, part of a red banner with white lettering reads THEATRE ROYAL SCR, presumably referring to the building's most recent use as a cinema.
