Programme cover from 1938 showing a black and white photograph of the exterior of Sadler’s Wells, London. The photograph is taken from Roseberry Avenue, opposite the theatre and from a position left of the entrance, so that the side elevation can also be seen. The segmental panelled canopy above the entrance carries the theatre name and above this, the brick frontage features three rectangular windows, the central window being surmounted by a segmental pediment containing a relief sculpture. The side elevation also carries the theatre name (top left). Advertising signage at ground and first floor level can be seen but contains no readable text. The programme is for a production of Hugh the Drover.
