Newspaper cutting containing two black and white photographs of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre - one taken before it suffered fire damage in 1926, the other after it was rebuilt to a new design in 1932 - plus caption text. The 'before' photograph (left) shows the museum wing, the galleried bridge linking it to the main structure, the fly tower and the round auditorium with a cone-shaped roof and spire; completed by 1879, it was known as the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre. In the 'after' photograph (right), the buildings to the right of the galleried bridge have been replaced by a round auditorium with a flat roof and a large adjoining structure.
