Streetscape showing the London Pavilion, and theatres on Shaftesbury Avenue, London

000128.jpg

Black and white postcard showing part of the façade of the London Pavilion, with the Lyric, Apollo and Gielgud (then Globe) Theatres in the background, within a streetscape of Shaftesbury Avenue and Piccadilly Circus in London. The building that incorporates the London Pavilion dominates the right hand side of the postcard. Various shop fronts and signage are immediately visible but the theatre’s Shaftesbury Avenue façade, with its columns and pedimented roof, are visible just beyond a vertical sign reading ‘Non Stop Variety’.
