Colour photograph showing a side elevation of the Mercury Theatre in Colchester. Taken from across a driveway leading up to the entrance, it shows the left hand side of a V-shaped two-storey frontage, with a café called ‘G2’ connecting the façade with the rear of the building, and a grey slate fly tower above. The façade has a plain brick ground floor, above which is a restaurant behind vertical windows. The café occupies a single storey with a yellow brick block behind and to the right bearing three small projecting gables. The building is unusually shaped, virtually following the contours of the hexagonal stage within.
