Colour photograph showing the façade of the Royal Lyceum Theatre within a streetscape of Grindley Street in Edinburgh. Taken from across the road, it shows a white-stuccoed frontage in French classical style. The three central bays of the façade form a balustraded balcony at first floor level, with attached Corinthian columns and flanking pilasters rising to a triangular pediment. A steeply pitched mansard roof tops the entire composition and a brick fly tower is partly in shot to the left. What appears to be a wide canopy over the main entrance actually forms the roof to a glazed extension of the foyer onto the street. Other visible architectural and decorative elements include; pedimented windows, rusticated archways and entablature.
