Colour photograph showing a side elevation of the Theatre Royal within a streetscape of Sawclose in Bath. Taken from down the hill, it shows the theatre on the right hand side with a sign across the side of a white entrance block bearing the name of the theatre. The sidewall has five bays of plain sash windows, very similar to the adjacent buildings on the left, below a pitched roof. The ground floor, masked by a wall and shrubbery, contains a public house (‘The Garrick’s Head’) and a restaurant (‘Vaults’).
