Colour photograph showing the façade and sidewall of the closed-down Odeon Cinema in Blackpool (the largest cinema to be purpose-built for the Odeon circuit). Taken from across the road, it shows an enormous faience façade dominating the right hand side with a plain brick sidewall to the left. The façade has five vertical windows inside a stepped recess, with remnants of the legend ODEON above, and a tower rising at the right-hand flank. A canopy stretches the width of the façade, and another smaller one extends down the length of the sidewall. (The building closed as a cinema a year before this photograph was taken when a new Odeon was opened on a different site. It has since had use as a night club.)
