000352.jpg

Black and white photograph of a pictorial representation of the Grand Theatre in Blackpool. As seen on its curved corner from across the road, it shows a Baroque façade and sidewall with decorated window features and several bays divided by pilasters, all topped by a copper fish-scaled dome on a cupola that rises behind scroll gables with finials and is crowned by a colonetted lantern. An elaborately decorated iron canopy extends all the way round the theatre, with ornamented gables above entrances marked UPPER CIRCLE and DRESS CIRCLE to the left of a main entrance that has GRAND THEATRE & OPERA HOUSE across its face and a sign reading BOX OFFICE underneath. GRAND THEATRE also appears on a large sign above the canopy on the corner, and again at the top of the main façade. The single word GRAND bends around the face of the corner tower in large tablature.
