Colour photograph showing the auditorium of the Grand Theatre in Blackpool. Taken from the gods looking down at the stage, it shows a high round-arched proscenium frame, with large oval painted panels in the spandrels (by Binns of Halifax), containing drawn house tabs and the safety curtain below. The stage is flanked by single boxes at dress circle level surmounted by an elaborate arched and pedimented canopy that rises above the level of the gallery front. Both the proscenium and the boxes are decorated in opulent plasterwork. The safety curtain advertises ‘Cinderella’, the forthcoming Christmas pantomime.
