Colour photograph showing the façade of the Hippodrome in Bristol. It has three storeys and is divided into two, with the block on the right (in the foreground) containing the main entrance and a slightly recessed opening at first and second floor level. The opening contains two columns framing windows on both levels with the name HIPPODROME in red lights flanked by decoration above. The block to the left is a plain version of its neighbour with the windows being the only features that are repeated. A café called ‘Cast’ occupies the ground floor. Each block has a similarly shaped canopy, with the canopy over the entrance also bearing the name HIPPODROME. Posters at street-level and two billboards (above the main entrance and on top of the flat roof of the entrance block) advertise ‘Peter Pan’. An extra block to the left, in white with a small triangular gable, extends forward with the Hippodrome’s box office occupying the ground floor and posters on the exposed sidewall advertising ‘Soul Train’ and ‘The Nutcracker’.
