Black and white postcard showing the façade of The Gaiety Theatre, within a streetscape of The Strand in London. It is a large and symmetrical building with its main entrance lying at the base of a round corner tower where The Strand meets The Aldwych. The tower is crowned by a large dome and statue (‘The Spirit of Gaiety’). The rest of the building stretches down both roads either side of the tower. A series of columns frame a balconied area on the second floor, and the top of the building is lined with balustrades. Canopies stretch around the entire building. A production called ‘SPRING CHICKEN’ is advertised across the canopy over main entrance. Various entrances and exits are visible on all sides of the theatre.
