Colour photograph showing the façade of the former Philharmonic Hall in Cardiff. Taken from across St Mary Street, it shows a three-storey, stone façade with a triangular pediment (bearing the words CARDIFF PHILHARMONIC HALL ANNO DOMINI 1876) over three central bays with another pair of bays either side. Pilasters separate each bay with set back window features in between. An iron canopy supported by columns extends the width of the three central bays over the entrance to a bar (‘The Square’). A booking office occupies the outer bays on the left hand side, with a fish and chip shop (‘The Chippy’) on the right. The façade has been neglected and trees are growing out of the top of it.
