Colour photograph showing the façade of the Brook in Chatham. Taken from across the road, it shows an imposing structure in English Renaissance style, of Monk's Park ashlar and Portland stone, with a tall square clock tower topped by a green dome and containing a loggia above the entrance at one corner. Four figures surmounting the main entrance represent Justice, Britannia, Agriculture and Music. A large, semi-circular rusticated window at second floor level forms the centrepiece of the façade with a triangular pediment above bearing the year 1899. Coupled pilasters lead up to entablature that divides every storey, rising finally to large lanterns that flank the central pediment. Another green-domed tower is partly in shot coming from the rear of the building. A long sign at street-level reads MEDWAY’S HOME OF ENTERTAINMENT.
