Colour photograph showing a rear and side elevation of the former Theatre Royal in Chatham. A brick block housing the auditorium and fly tower dominates the photograph, with the sidewall continuing off into the distance (the white entrance block is visible) to the left and the rear wall, bearing the name THEATRE ROYAL in yellow and black, to the right. A central, triangular gable fronts a tower that projects from a sloping roof above the sidewall, and a small lantern protrudes from the main hipped roof above. Various entrances are visible at street-level, possibly including the stage door, and an additional two-storey block with a slate roof contains two large doorways that probably served as the get-in.
