Colour photograph showing the façade of the Apollo Theatre. The photograph is taken from opposite the main entrance. The façade is in free Renaissance style in three major bays. The canopy, which is lined with lights, is flat with a central semicircular projection; above, the central bay has a balcony, pedimented windows and a wedge-shaped signage board at first floor level, and carries a vertical name-sign at attic level; the flanking bays are canted and rise to squat corner towers with figure sculptures. The production advertised is the musical Gondoliers, adapted from the Gilbert and Sullivan opera by John Doyle.
