Corner bay of the Borough Theatre

Colour photograph showing the corner bay of the Borough Theatre. The photograph is taken from opposite the main entrance which is housed within the corner bay. Above the canopy, faced in mirror glass, the cream frontage is essentially plain, decorated only by the Corinthian pilasters which frame the windows on the bowed section. The corner sweep, which replaced the original Jacobean-style frontage when the theatre was converted to a cinema, was completed to a design by George Coles in 1933.
