Black and white photograph showing the ceiling of the Comedy Theatre. The photograph is taken from the stage, the camera having been aimed directly upward. The ceiling has several bands of decoration - a moulding, a garland relief and a fretted octagonal hub to which individual garlands containing busts are attached - with a gas sunburner at its the centre. The underside of the safety curtain and the wall of the balcony, which is concentric with the ceiling, can also be seen clearly.
