Colour postcard showing a painting of the Hippodrome at night within in a streetscape of Charing Cross Road in London. While two sidewalls (one of which leads into Cranbourne Street) are partly visible, it is the corner bay of the façade, with the name ‘HIPPODROME’ written in lights, that dominates the postcard. At the top of the building the skeletal dome can be seen crowned by its sculptured group of a chariot with rearing horses. The canopy is lined with lights on the outer edge, illuminating the main entrance.
