Theatre
Only the Greek Doric porch and three-bay, three-storey stucco façade of Sarah Baker’s second theatre on this site are said to have been retained when it was replaced by the Corn Exchange. The interior space, now a covered courtyard shopping centre, is pleasant and retains some of the Corn Exchange character. Despite evocative decorations, it is not a relic of the Baker theatre. A curious fact about this theatre was that its auditorium was in Kent, and its stage in Sussex.
