Studio Theatre
The amateur theatre company was founded in the 1960s and first permanently housed above the Milford Arms in Milford Street. When this became unavailable, wooden ACT huts in Ashley Road were offered to the company and in 1984, these were converted to a theatre seating 50.
In 2003, after a fundraising programme, money was awarded from the National Lottery for a new theatre; the huts were demolished, and a new Studio, designed by architect John Coleman opened in 2004. This is a 100 seat flexible theatre with bar, kitchen, green room and dressing rooms. The building is a plain concrete block single-story pavilion with pitched metal roof and entrance porch.
