A large red-brick and stone building in stripped Classical style, typical of its kind, on an island site adjacent to the War Memorial. Gutted by fire in 1943 and rebuilt in 1957. A flat-floored multi-purpose hall with flexible seating at stalls level, but fixed, tip-up seating in the single raked balcony. A Christie organ from Regal Cinema, Edmonton was installed in 1986.
