St James Theatre

215

Externally the building has a long narrow appearance with a slightly raised fly tower at one end. A minor cine-variety house that was substantially rebuilt after a fire in 1934, the theatre became a bingo hall after the cinema closed, later returning to use as a cinema in 2007 until its final closure in 2012. The building was sold in 2013 after it was discovered to be in use as a cannabis factory and further damaged by arson in January 2017.
