1898 Built in Moorish style. Two boxes flanked proscenium, six boxes at rear of dress circle. Stalls fauteuils reached from circle. Glass sliding roof after fashion of London Pavilion and Canterbury halls. Full electric light and full gas illumination in case of power failure. Erected on site of shops and Theatre Royal scene store. Stage had full complement of bridges, cuts, traps and vampires. Ten dressing rooms.
