Brewery Arts Centre
Sympathetic conversion of 1972 of former brewery dating from 1790, enlarged and refurbished in 1993/4. The building is a veritable rabbit-warren with different levels and rooms. The theatre seats 260 with a single steeply-raked bank of seats, with film presentation facilities. The stage is open, and not raised; six hemp sets; no orchestra pit. There is also the Malt Room seating 350 with platform stage, a studio seating 60, twin screen cinema complex, Warehouse Gallery, restaurants and bars, which contribute considerably to the revenue of the venue.
