Little Angel Theatre
Little Angel Theatre was converted from a temperance hall in 1961 by a troupe of puppeteers led by South African master John Wright. The building was transformed into a magical space designed specifically for children, and the presentation of marionette shows. The entrance to the theatre leads to a small foyer/box office. A door to the left of the entrance leads to the auditorium which has bench seating for 100 people. The site in Islington is also home to the workshop where the theatre’s puppets are created. The puppet theatre company has toured widely (in the UK and overseas), and still presents regular shows at its little venue in Islington.
