Theatr Myfanwy
This was a small multi-function space on first floor of 1960’s College building with no external visibility whatsoever.
Auditorium was a converted College Hall, rectangular and set with retractable bleacher seating and demountable staging.
All walls were painted out black, original windows had been blocked up and it had a black lino floor throughout.
There was insufficient height for flying but significant rigging points were provided across the stage area and throughout the auditorium for scenic effects, drapes (to form proscenium when required) and performance sound and lighting installations.
The audience foyer was created within the original double height college entrance hall by filling in a floor void and was served by a bar and cloakroom. There was no on-site Box Office and audience WCs were provided by general college provision in the vicinity.
The retractable bleacher seating was motorised but very heavy and due to the location of the door into the college hall, was split into two blocks of audience separated by a wide aisle on the auditorium centreline.
The building was demolished in 2013 when new facilities were established.
