The ACE Centre
The ACE Centre opened in June 2009, a brand new community arts centre for Nelson built by the council. Its programming policy is a broad mixture of music, comedy, film and theatre, with other community uses for the building - gallery, classes, exhibitions, as well as a purpose-built recording studio.
The Centre sits on the corner of Cross Street and Russell Street, the site previously occupied (in part) by a non-conformist chapel and Salvation Army Citadel.
