East Riding Theatre
Originally built as a Baptist chapel in 1910 by George F. Pennington of Garside & Pennington, the building was used by East Riding of Yorkshire Council as storage and office space from 1964. It was listed in 1987. The chapel was built of red brick with ashlar dressings in the English Free school style. A central large semi-circular traceried window is set above a slightly projecting stone porch with traceried panels above two segmental-headed doorways and moulded reveals. In April 2013, the East Riding of Yorkshire Council approved planning for the conversion of the building into the professional theatre with a thrust stage and the capacity to seat an audience of 200 people which opened in 2014.
