The Terry O'Toole Theatre

3838

The Terry O’Toole Theatre is a modern black box / studio theatre with a capacity of 200 seats. The theatre is sandwiched between the North Kesteven School and the North Kesteven Leisure Centre. The buildings are interconnected and the theatre shares public facilities such as the changing areas, reception/box office and foyer cafe with these organisations. The stage is at floor level and laid to black dance flooring. The central area is underlaid with a sprung wooden floor. The theatre was originally conceived as a multi-purpose performance space, with the option of in-the-round performance, but the restrictions upon entrances/exits made this unworkable in practice and the stage is now used in proscenium, end-on or thrust configurations. The auditorium seating is raked.
