The CLF Theatre

3847

The Bussey Building was built as a factory and warehouse in the 18th century. Constructed in concrete and clad in brick, it retains some of its original decorative features. In 2007 the Bussey Building (also known as CIP house) was at risk of demolition as it was intended that Transport for London (TfL) would use the site to construct the Cross River Tram depo. However, the site is no longer required and the CLF have moved in to part of the building. The CLF Art Cafe opened in 2011, and hosts art, music, film, theatre, dance, comedy and club nights. The theatre, located on the third floor of the building, has a flat floored auditorium with seating for up to 125 patrons and plays are staged on a monthly basis. Since 2011 the building has been located in the Peckham Conservation Area.
