Rothes Halls
Glenrothes is one of a series of post-war new towns built in Scotland in the late 1940s. Early growth was fostered by the Glenrothes Development Corporation (GDC) which was responsible for the opening of Rothes Halls on 30 November 1993. Ownership of Rothes Halls was handed to Fife Council after the GDC was wound up the following year. Rothes Halls is a purpose-built, multi-function conference centre and performance venue with 12 meeting rooms, gallery spaces, and two auditoria situated within the Kingdom Shopping Centre. The central library and a cafe form part of the complex. The main auditorium can accommodate 616 in tiered moveable seating with 16+ wheelchair spaces and the smaller studio space seats 200.
