Built as a cinema theatre, the Westover was Bournemouth's largest cinema, designed by ABC House Architect W.R. Glen. Closed in 1969 for major internal reconstruction and twinning. Most of the ornate plasterwork was destroyed and the organ removed. Limited stage facilities still exist in the No 1 screen upstairs, but the venue has been little used for live entertainment, unlike the Regent (Odeon) a few doors away.
