New Hippodrome Theatre

8

Crewe's 1908 theatre replaced a wooden structure on the same site which had opened in 1903. The first Hippodrome Theatre was destroyed by fire in June 1908. The New Hippodrome was constructed in just four and a half months and opened on 21 December 1908. It closed in 1955 and was demolished c.1960 after lying derelict for some years.
